Vem berörs?
Detta problem gäller för kunder med laptop och externa skärmar kopplade via en dockningsstation. Kopplar man ur sig från dockan eller kopplar extern skärm direkt till sin laptop fungerar SOLIDWORKS som vanligt. Problemet är relaterat till Windows 10 May 2020 Update (Version2004, Build 19041). SOLIDWORKS Samarbetar med Microsoft och Intel för att lösa frågan.
Symtom:
- SOLIDWORKS Splash screen visas och stängs sedan utan att programmet startar
- SOLIDWORKS startar men är väldigt långsamt/segt
- Uppstår från en dag till annan

The Intel driver version 27.20.100.9079 and later addresses this problem. You can download the driver from:

This driver resolves the crash; however, it is still possible that the SOLIDWORKS software might not use the discrete GPU and instead run using Software OpenGL. The Windows operating system does not presently detect or use the discrete NVIDIA® GPU on a secondary monitor (through the docking station if a laptop lid is closed). This behavior is not unique to SOLIDWORKS.
The workaround to allow SOLIDWORKS to use the NVIDIA GPU for maximum performance is to start SOLIDWORKS with the laptop lid OPEN (laptop display on). After launching SOLIDWORKS, you can close the lid safely.
If you experience slow graphical performance in SOLIDWORKS when connected to a docking station, try the described workaround. Contact your reseller and request that they open a service request to add you to SPR 1203408.
Additionally, if the above driver update does not resolve this, try the following
1) Right-click on an empty space on the Desktop and choose the Display Settings from the menu.
2) Choose which you want to be your primary monitor (Select the Desktop monitor), scroll down and choose to “Make this my main display”.
After doing that, the selected monitor will become the primary monitor. This has also been known to resolve this issue.
